Effective protection of grain crops from pests

چکیده
Abstract Plant protection products are currently the main part of crop cultivation technologies not only in Krasnoyarsk territory, but also around world. The most promising way to protect plants from pests is an integrated system that involves use chemical control agents cases where pest population exceeds economic threshold, and effectiveness increase natural mechanisms for regulating number carried out using agro-technical biological methods suppression. As a result conducted research, it was revealed protective measures allowed reduce losses by 10-15 %. During study period, all recorded on grain crops (excluding cereal flies) did exceed threshold harmfulness, necessary take into account their complex impact especially (aphids, thrips large nutmegs), which themselves massively spread more widely crops. Pests ear grain, aphids wheat exerted greatest harmfulness experiment background with zero tillage.

Cover crops and control of arthropod pests of agriculture
Cover crops can harbor both harmful and beneficial arthropods (1, 3). Damage to cover crops themselves is rarely of concern; more important is the possibility that pests harbored amid cover crops may disperse to adjoining cash crops [see Kennedy and Margolies (31) for a discussion of the dynamics of such mobile pests]. Here, I explore the roles that cover crops play in the life cycles and popul...

The intensification of agriculture and the development of synthetic insecticides enabled worldwide grain production to more than double in the last third of the 20th century. However, the heavy dependence and, in some cases, overuse of insecticides has been responsible for negative environmental and ecological impacts across the globe, such as a reduction in biodiversity, insect resistance to i...

Volatile compounds and extrafloral nectar are common defenses of wild plants; however, in crops they bear an as-yet underused potential for biological control of pests and diseases. Odor emission and nectar secretion are multigene traits in wild plants, and thus form difficult targets for breeding. Furthermore, domestication has changed the capacity of crops to express these traits. We propose ...

Crops producing insecticidal crystal (Cry) proteins from Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) control important lepidopteran pests. However, pests such as aphids not susceptible to Cry proteins may require other integrated pest management (IPM) tactics, including biological control. We fed aphids on Bt and non-Bt plants and analyzed the Bt protein residue in aphids and compared the effects of Bt plants ...
